Runimals

A character design project to support a group business project, featuring a series of colourful, cute characters designed to win the hearts of the youth of today. Runimals is an app designed to encourage people to get out and exercise more. As you do your steps, you feed and level a little character of your choosing.

Bloom

The Blossom Dragon

Our next creature is Bloom, a dragon intertwined with the cherry blossom tree. Dragons are a loved part of many modern medias today, House of the Dragon and How to Train Your Dragon to name a few, and combining that with the recent cherry blossom season is a great way to stay relevant on the current trends.

Strix

The Gargoyle Owl

This is Strix, a grumpy cute owlet that occasionally shifts into his true, gargoyle self. Inspired by gothic fashion and themes that have seen a huge boost with the recent Netflix show Wednesday - and also to appeal to the grumpy and “creepy cute” market, Strix branches out into another demographic within our target audience.

Aries

The Celestial Ram

Here we have Aries, a celestial creature that draws inspiration from the ram, rabbits and Aries zodiac sign. Star signs are a popular trend that stays alive across multiple platforms; specifically young people in the 18 to 29 age range have the strongest interest or belief in the astrology system - directly within our target audience. This keeps us aware and our creatures on topic with the current trends.

Rosa

The Rose Fox

Lastly we have Rosa, a sweet little creature inspired by fruit bats and fennec foxes. Pink and cute concepts are getting more and more popular in modern media, take the recently announced Barbie movie as an example, and jumping on this trend to appeal to that feminine, cute aesthetic is a powerful way to connect with the female side of our 14 to 30 target audience.
